Volumetric Pipette and Pump Diagrams | Chemistry
A new set of volumetric pipette diagrams with both wheel-operated and three-valve pumps. Versions include labelled and recall diagrams for the three-valve pump, together with a close-up at the calibration mark for demonstrating where the meniscus of the sample should sit.
These simple, clear diagrams provide useful visuals for teaching practical chemistry, illustrating accurate volume measurement and creating worksheets, presentations and other educational resources.
Flexible for teaching different equipment

Close-up showing the pipette meniscus
The different diagrams can be used to introduce volumetric pipettes and pipette pumps, demonstrate accurate volume measurement, and help students learn how to use a three-valve rubber pipette pump. The labelled diagrams include short prompts explaining the function and order of use of the Air, Sample and Empty valves, while the recall versions can be used to practise identifying the parts of the pump.
The meniscus close-up can be used to illustrate how the sample volume should be read against the calibration mark.
