Welcome to SciPics.org (referred to below as "the Website", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or downloading any content from our platform, you enter into a legally binding contract governed by these Terms of Service and End-User Licence Agreement. Please read them carefully before using our service.

1. Account Security and Single-User Policy

• Individual Accounts: Your subscription is personal to you. You are granted one (1) single-user access seat.

• No Account Sharing: Sharing your login credentials, password, or account access with colleagues, educational institutions, university departments, or any third party is strictly prohibited.

• Monitoring and Termination: We monitor account access for security purposes. Simultaneous logins from different locations or unusual download activity may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or liability for a refund.

2. Intellectual Property Rights & Image Licence

• All scientific images, diagrams, illustrations, animations and charts available on this Website (collectively referred to as "visual assets") are the exclusive intellectual property of SciPics.org and are protected by UK and international copyright laws (including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Berne Convention).

• When you download an asset, ownership of the copyright does not transfer to you. Instead, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the assets subject to the following terms:

• Permitted Uses (What You CAN Do)

  ›  Educational Use: You may use the visual assets in your own classroom presentation slides, lecture theatres, seminar materials, interactive whiteboard displays, digital learning environments (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas), student hand-outs, and printed worksheets.

  ›  Adaptation: You may modify, crop, recolour, or annotate the visual assets to fit the specific pedagogical needs of your curriculum, lesson plans, lecture series, or local exam and higher education diploma boards (including, but not limited to, AQA, Edexcel, OCR, US State Standards, IB, and undergraduate course modules).

• Prohibited Uses (What You CANNOT Do)

  ›  Standalone Distribution: You may not share, email, or distribute the raw, standalone visual asset files with anyone outside of your account, including students or academic peers.

  ›  No Commercial Graphic Packs: You are strictly prohibited from bundling our work together to sell or distribute them as "clip-art packs", "graphics bundles", "scientific asset kits", or similar.

  ›  Bulk Scraping: You may not use any automated software, bots, browser extensions, or scripts to mass-download, extract, or scrape files from our website.

3. Commercial and Departmental Use Policy (Selling and Sharing Your Resources)

• You are permitted to share and/or sell original educational resources you have created that incorporate our work, such as lesson plans, presentation slides, revision notes, or worksheets via internal academic file sharing or on external platforms such as TES, Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT), or your own digital store, provided you comply with the following conditions:

  ›  Broader Educational Work: Our visual assets must only be used as incidental components of a larger, original educational resource or lecture package created by you (such as a full lesson PowerPoint presentation, a seminar slide deck, or an entire module revision booklet).

  ›  Mandatory Creator Credit: You must include a visible copyright credit line somewhere within your resource or on your designated credits page. The credit must be clear, refer to each asset used in the resource and use one of the following textual formats, matching the type or types of media you have used:

  »  Standard: "Visual assets used with permission from SciPics.org".

  »  Specific Options: You are welcome to swap "Visual assets" for more specific descriptive terms. For example: "Images by SciPics.org", "Diagrams by SciPics.org", or "Diagrams and animations used with permission from SciPics.org".

  ›  Optimised File Resolution:
  You acknowledge and agree that our visual assets are provided at an optimised resolution specifically designed for digital screens, lecture projectors, and standard classroom printing. They are not high-resolution master files intended for large-scale commercial publishing, mass-market textbooks, or physical merchandise. The user assumes responsibility for ensuring this web-optimised format meets the technical requirements of their platform.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellations

• Recurring Billing: By signing up for a subscription plan, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method automatically at the start of each billing cycle (monthly or annually).

• Cancellations: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Squarespace customer dashboard. Once cancelled, you will retain access to the member library until the end of your current paid billing period.

• Statutory Rights & Refund Policy: Due to the instant digital nature of downloadable files, you agree that your access to download content begins immediately upon purchase. Consequently, you waive any statutory cancellation or "cooling-off" periods (including those under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations or EU Consumer Rights Directives) once downloading or viewing of subscription content has commenced. As such, we do not offer refunds once images have been accessed.

5. Limitation of Liability

• While we strive for absolute accuracy in our scientific assets, they are intended as illustrative educational aids. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any curriculum mismatches, exam grading disputes, university assessment appeals, or factual discrepancies that may occur in your external teaching or lecture materials.

6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

• These terms, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising under this agreement, regardless of your global location or the country from which you access the Website.
