Transpiration Stream Schematic | GCSE Biology

A new GCSE Biology visual showing the movement of water through a plant in the transpiration stream. Designed to make the pathway of water through the plant clear and easy to explain.

The diagrams illustrate the movement of water from the roots, through the stem to the leaves and out of the leaves via evaporation, helping students visualise the pathway involved in water transport through the plant.

The labelled versions can be used to introduce the transpiration stream and explain how water moves through a plant. The gap-fill versions provide an opportunity for students to recall the pathway and key terminology.

The resource can also be used when discussing the relationship between water uptake, transpiration and the movement of water through the xylem.

Greyscale versions are suitable for printing and worksheets, while the colour versions are useful for presentations and digital teaching materials.
